Tomorrow is International Women’s Day and we are getting you ready for work!
It’s that fabulous time of year when all women come together and celebrate our day. Wednesday 8th March is International Women’s Day! Whether we’re working or holidaying or bringing up the next generation, we are all worthy of a day to appreciate ourselves. A record high of 67% of women are employed or self employed in the UK (we hear you business savvy women) and in light of this, it’s about time we showed some inspiration of what to wear to work as your ‘Power Outfit’ tomorrow!
The Smart Suit
Going to a meeting or a really important lunch? This is the suit for you. A tailored trouser with a tight ankle will elongate the legs and taper down to your ankle. The strappy sandal heels gives the look of height but if you aren’t one for heels why not try a pointed flat shoe for the same effect? A high neck top will scream ‘sexy but sultry’ and keep in all of the class, finished off with a blazer to really smarten up and say ‘I mean business’. Why not add a gold or silver brooch if you fancy adding some glitter?
The ‘IT’ Girl
This one is sure to turn heads and not for those that don’t like the attention. A skirt with a slit shows the leg but doesn’t reveal too much. A little edgy is what we like to call this look. The pointed boots add the biker chic element but the monochrome also keeps it in work mode. Pair some absolutely RIDICULOUS sized sunglasses with this outfit and strut like you own the city!
Sweet & Stylish
If going more girly is your thing then this outfit is candy for you. The vertical stripes make the skirt look longer but don’t shorten your legs and the synched waist is great for either tucking tight tops in or like this one, featuring a crop top. The length breaks up the outfit well and the colours go great together. The pretty pink shoes also add that little extra and gold accessories to bring it bag up to #girlboss quota.
Now I know all of these outfits feature heels, but hey, they are sexy right? I wish I could wear them everyday, but I don’t trust myself to get on and off trains without getting caught in the door or tripping over. This Sports Chic look can work so well with either heels or trainers or possibly some lower backless heels too. The casual denim and the cosy top with the satin bomber adds an element of luxury to a very simple outfit, and paired with a statement handbag, you’re sure to catch the attention of your peers.
So I hope this has helped you with some inspiration for your outfit of choice tomorrow! I know I’ll be attempting heels but I’ll let you know how that goes on the train and whether my feet fall off or not …
