The global retailer Lush is moving to a bigger and prominent space in WestQuay this summer. Promising to have more and new exciting products.

Lush is an eco-friendly brand, that produces fresh handmade cosmetics. The brand first launched in Southampton in 2000 at East Bargate. Lush defends that all businesses should be ethical by not being damaging to people or the planet. They believe that cosmetics shouldn’t be damaging to the planet and to them, they can save the world. The brand is very politically involved, sharing posts on their social media on current events and even having events of their own to expand awareness on issues they are concerned about. However, it wasn’t just the brand’s strong political views that gain them a large and loyal customer range, but also their innovative products. Such as colourful bath bombs, solid shampoos and shower jellies that are 100% vegetarian. Currently Lush is also producing a large range of vegan products.

Lush is set to move to WestQuay shopping centre this summer to the 270 square metre unit next to River Island and Superdry. The shopping centre welcomes over 300,000 customers every week. Moving to a busier space will not only give the Lush the opportunity to reach more costumers but also store more new and exciting products as this space will be much bigger than their current location in East Bargate. It will also bring around 20 new jobs to Southampton.

Iain Mitchell, Lush’s UK Commercial Director, commented, “As a very innovative and modern brand, Lush is a perfect fit for the retail line-up at Westquay, which continues to evolve. Following the hugely successful launch of Westquay South, the centre has firmly cemented itself as the number one destination for both retail and dining in Southampton and its ability to attract global brands such as Lush is a testament to this.”

The store is promising to keep up their ethical image whilst bringing innovative and exciting new front windows that will impress the current WestQuay customers. Becks Colborne, Lush’s the UK and Ireland Retail Project Manager, added, “We’re all really excited to be able to give Lush Southampton a beautiful new store in the prominent location of the Westquay shopping centre.”
