We are the cooperative bookshop of Southampton, running since 1977, representing the power of community in independent retail in this city. Our 2018 move to permanent premises, achieved through immense community investment and support – marked a bold change.  Yet, we have always been and aspire to remain a hub for promoting diverse voices in Southampton.

We’re proud to offer carefully curated collections of books from local to internationally acclaimed writers. We offer bespoke selections of cards, locally sourced foods, a refill station and so much more. We’re proud to participate actively in climate action and the fight for equality in all its forms in our city and beyond, all from our little bookshop.
