Southampton has plenty of fantastic family activities to offer this February half-term. If you’re looking to escape the weather and do something fun with the kids, or even if you need to drop them off somewhere to enjoy a much-needed break for yourself, here are some great ideas to keep everyone busy…

Get messy in Southampton City Art Gallery with a fun creative workshop for all the family, without having to clean up afterwards! Perfect for kids 5yrs+, this workshop will have you making your own clay building and using lots of sculpting techniques. Join on Monday 13, or Tuesday 14 February, at 10am, 12.30pm or 2pm. Book tickets here.

Let your imagination run wild with some under the sea inspired watercolours for kids aged 5yrs+. They’ll learn some super fun art techniques to help bring their worlds to life, in this inspired workshop that can be enjoyed by kids and parents together. Get hands-on with some more underwater fun at SeaCity Museum, with this imaginative sculpture workshop, creating stunning jellyfish sculptures from recycled materials. Sessions are at 10am, 1pm or 3.15pm, on Wednesday 15 February – and adults get to join in for free! Find out more here.

Ready, take aim and fire! Have a go at archery at Tudor House & Garden and become a knight for an afternoon. You’ll create your own heraldic emblem and enjoy lots of fun and games.
