Sounds of Southampton is a fresh new annual compilation album supporting emerging talent in the city of Southampton. The album will be released on 20th November and is available to pre-order from 2nd November.
SoCo Music Project has teamed up with SO Movement to provide a platform for 24 young artists to release their music and collaborate on an album compilation that showcases some of the best new grime, drill, trap and R&B that the city has to offer.
Supported by funding from Arts Council England and PRS Foundation, the programme has provided mentoring, masterclasses and industry support for these exciting new artists to progress to the next level. SoCo/SO Mentors Tyrone, Shannon B & Sal have worked through the summer, coaching the artists and supporting them on their musical journeys.
Artists featuring on Sounds of Southampton vol.1 are Tyrone x Warbz, Cam Keddy, Charmz14, Melina Greene, Maria Cathalina, AK, Shannon B, Reece Brown, Young Chiidz, Lookie x S.4.G.E, Jean, Edward McMann, Amy Da Silva, Becky Wakely, JD, Lou-E, Young Harri, Nath Smith, LJ, Lash, RB, EMthe1st with a mix by DJ Tee.
The album is fronted by multi million streaming rap duo Tyrone & Warbz who recently has had support from BBC Radio 1xtra, have featured on the UK’s biggest YouTube music platform GRM Daily and are involved in Southampton’s bid for City of Culture 2025. Tyrone also being part of top 10 official dance album charters ‘FooR’ who earlier this year had their track ‘Fresh’ used in the Coors light TV advert & signed to major record label Warner Music.
The original tracks have been recorded by platinum selling Mix Engineer & Producer Jojo F & Artist/Mix Engineer Klaudia Keziah at JoJo F Red Room Studio & Mutant Lab studio’s.
